In the following list we present a collection of centres, organisations, institutes, programmes and projects that seek to expand the research community’s collective knowledge of wars and armed conflicts, international relations, security politics, human rights as well as peace and conflict studies. Our list is incomplete and, as such, might leave off centres well worth including. In an attempt to provide an overview, a broad array of entities beyond proper academic research centres and institutes have been included.

Association for Researches on Causes of war

The "Association For researches on Causes of War"of the University of Hamburg investigates, since the beginning of the eighties, the global war events after the Second World War. The website contains an unrivaled overview of the current war events, with brief analysis of all wars and armed conflicts after 1945 as well as extensive references to additional sources on all ongoing wars.

  • Database COSIMO: Covers period from 1945-1999. Search by year, country, region and / or intensity possible. About WWW limited search option, but there is the option to download the entire database.
  • Conflict Barometer: The annual Conflict Barometer is organized in five regions of the world and directs to all the current conflicts in detailed tables and short descriptive text parts.

The website of the pro-government "Science and Politics Foundation" in Berlin (formerly Ebenhausen) contains not only information on the research of the Foundation, but also produces some texts by scholars on current issues of international politics and problems in some countries.

The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM) is a research institute of the Ludwig Boltzmann Association (LBG) and provides the research and teaching in the field of human rights. Besides, their work focuses are on the documentation and teaching, with the BIM moving at the interface between theory and practice of human rights work.

Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports human rights learning. HREA works with individuals, non-governmental organisations, inter-governmental organisations and governments interested in implementing human rights education programmes.
