Objectives
The PACS program attaches great importance to theory. At the same time, it discusses and demonstrates the practical relevance of these concepts and methods in the seminars. The courses analyze specific conflicts and cases and offer practical skills of conflict management. PACS focuses on human rights issues, conflict analyses, and normative issues of a global peace order. It offers students a broad education in theories and methods of Peace and Conflict Studies and enables them to develop strong analytical and practical skills.
Aim
The aim of the study program is the interactive exchange of knowledge about theories and methods of peace and conflict studies. Students acquire skills and competencies for the analysis of social and political contexts. The curriculum has two equally weighted parts. On the one hand, students deal with the causes of violent conflicts. On the other hand, they examine the transformation of conflicts and the stabilization of fragile societies using non-violent resolution mechanisms.

The study program not only creates new scientists. It is also prepares graduates for a future career in international institutions and non-governmental organizations or other administrative structures. Peace and Conflict Studies graduates typically work in one of the following fields:
