The Future of Nepali Development Planning
Our second day in Patan started with sunshine and a rockmusic loaded busride to Kathmandu University. Filled with this positive vibe and full of excitement what the third day of our research trip has in store for us, we attended with our research partners an exciting lecture from Dr. Sagar Raj Sharma which dealt with the Future of Nepali Development Planning.
The lecture provided us with important insights to the current challenges of development in Nepal and was followed by an interactive talk with the students of Development Studies. During these conversations we had the chance to deepen our understanding on social inclusion, ethnic identity, local governance and peace building and discussed current obstacles within Nepali society.
After a short but delicious lunch break that was filled with momos, pakoras and curries, we finally had the chance to meet in our projects groups in order to to discuss our upcoming research. With our heads full of new ideas, perspectives and contacts, we decided to end the day with a walk through the colourful, vibrant streets of Patan and are excited to start our field research tomorrow.
